A Versatile Crochet Addition to Your Little Girl’s Wardrobe

There is nothing I love more than a reversible crochet item! Named by my daughter, The Flappy Sleeve Cardigan can easily be worn with the buttons in the back or in the front! The gorgeous bobble sleeves are right on trend and the cropped length of the cardigan is perfect for pairing with dresses. You can easily add length to the body if you so desire.

Construction

The Flappy Sleeve Cardigan is constructed from the top down in a raglan style. This means that there are four increase points around the yoke. We will add 8 stitches each row. The front and back of the cardigan use half double crochet stitches and the sleeves use a combination of bobble and half double crochet stitches. After the yoke is complete, the sleeves are separated and the body is stitched to the correct length. The front edging will be worked before you proceed to the sleeves.

Next you will join your yarn to the skipped sleeves stitches and work each sleeve. The pattern instructs you to sew up the sleeves at the end but if you feel confident, you can always slip stitch the sleeve as you go so you do not have to seam them at the end.
