This playful, stash-busting crochet pattern brings the charm of the original adult version into a cozy fit for children aged 6 months to 12 years. It was inspired by my daughter Maggie, who asked for her own the moment she saw mine. I couldn’t resist!
Designed for Comfort and Creativity
The Mini Backstage Sweater is made in one piece with a flattering V-neck. It features optional side slits and simple edging. The pattern is fully customizable—adjust the length, sleeve fit, or number of colors to suit your style or yarn stash.
The construction is easy to follow. Like the adult version, it uses the granny stitch and builds directly from the back panel. You’ll stitch the front and sleeves right on, no seaming needed.
Great for Stash-Busting
This is the perfect project to use up your favorite leftover DK yarns. You can go bold with a rainbow of colors or keep it soft and subtle with pastels. I changed colors every three rows, but you can switch it up however you like. Here are a few photos of the amazing sweaters my pattern testers made!
