Free Crochet Pattern – The Triad Pillow

A trendy throw pillow to add a geometric accent to any room in your house, perfect for a nursery, bedroom or living room. A great beginner project if you are new to crochet colorwork, using only half double crochet stitches. The cushion cover is stitched in rows and consists of 2 panels. When complete, the panels are sewn together to form the pillow case. The front panel uses 4 colours of yarn. The back panel uses only the main colour. The contrast colour changes with each section, B-C-D-D-C-B (see chart below).

Colour Changes

When working with two different yarn colours, make sure you “carry” the non working colour with you by laying it on top of the previous row and stitching over it with your working yarn until it is needed. When it is time to change colours, finish the last stitch before the colour change with your new colour (the last yarn over will be in the new colour).
