The Perfect Beginner Friendly Crochet Baby Blanket

When I wrote this pattern in May 2020, I had know idea it would become one of my most popular patterns. The simple, clean stitches and the gorgeous colour palette has become a favorite baby girl crochet blanket. The pattern comes in 5 sizes so you should be able to make it in the exact size you need. The gorgeous crochet flowers include an easy to follow video. You might be adding them to many more of your crochet projects.

Now we will make flowers to sew onto the front of the blanket. Make as many as you would like to frame the inside edge of the border. I used aran/worsted weight yarn and a 5mm hook. I made two different sizes of flowers, one with 6 petals and one with 7 petals.

Sl st to the bottom of the first petal. Leave a long tail to sew the flower onto the cardigan and break yarn.

Finishing
*Weave in all ends.
*Decide where you would like to place your flowers. Mark these places with st marker. Sew each flower onto the front of the blanket in your desired position.
*Make the matching another pattern from the Flower Fairy Collection!
*Now you have the most beautiful heirloom baby blanket.
