Easy Vintage Inspired Crochet Baby Bonnet- Marion Bonnet

The Marion Bonnet is designed in a gorgeous vintage style and is suitable for a proficient beginner to crochet. The back of the bonnet is worked in rounds. You will not turn after each round until you get to the shell stitch pattern. Make sure you always skip the slip stitch. If you don’t, you will end up with one extra stitch. The shell pattern is worked in multiples of 6 plus one, so you will need to leave the specified amount of stitches at the back of the bonnet unworked to start the shell pattern. Another thing to remember is that when your next stitch is a chain, always work into the chain space. After the bonnet is complete the straps are added directly onto the bonnet, no joining at all so you will only have two ends to weave in! How amazing is that? This bonnet is extremely quick to make and can be completed in an evening. Enjoy making your very own Marion Bonnet. Check out the matching Marion Dress to complete the look!

The Matching Marion Dress

You cannot make this beautiful bonnet without making the matching dress! The Marion Dress is a stunning, timeless crochet dress. The lace detailing is so romantic. When designing this dress I had a beautiful wedding in my head and the flower girls were wearing this dress. It would also be a gorgeous Christening/Baptismal crochet gown if you make the skirt extra long. The dress is made from the top down in a raglan style. Though the stitches are very simple (only single crochet, half double, double and chains), this design is better suited to someone with a significant amount of crochet experience. This dress comes in 8 different sizes from 0-3 months up to 12 years.
