Materials:


*5.00mm (U.S H-8) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
*4.00mm (U.S G-6) crochet hook for the edging

Gauge:

Gauge is only important if you want the blanket to be close to the measurements listed
14 stitches/14 rows= 10cmX10cm (4X4 inch) square in half double crochet underneath the 3 loops.

The Pattern

Row 1
ch 73[103,139,156,156] hdc in the 3rd ch from the hook and each ch across, turn
71[101,137,155,155]sts

Row 2
ch2, hdc in each st across the row, turn

Rows 3-5
Repeat Row 2, three more times.

Row 6
ch2, *hdc in the next 5 sts, puff in the next st, repeat from * 10[15, 21,24,24] more times, hdc in the last 5 sts, turn
71[101,137,155,155]sts

Repeat Row 6 until your blanket length measures 70cm/27.5in, 100cm/39in,100cm/39in,115cm/45.5in,145cm/57in.

Final Rows
Row 1
ch2, hdc in each st across the row, turn

Repeat Row 1, four more times.

Edging
Switch to the smaller hook
ch2, as evenly as possible, hdc-shell across the top of the blanket, down the side, across the bottom, up the other side, break yarn.

Finishing
Weave in all ends.
