I love the look of embroidery but I have not had the time to learn. I wanted to create a crochet flower that looks as though it was embroidered and came up with this perfect crochet puff flower.
Special Stitch
Puff Stitch
*yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, repeat from * 3 more times, there will be 9 loops on your hook, yarn over and pull through all nine loops.
Pattern
Magic Circle
Row 1, Colour A
ch2, 6 hdc into the magic circle, sl st to the first hdc
Row 2, Colour B (Petals)
ch2, puff in the first hdc, ch2, sl st into the same st of your puff st
*ch2, puff in the next hdc, ch2, sl st into the same st of your puff st, repeat from * in each st (including the sl st at the end) [7 petals]
Leave a long tail to sew your flower onto you projects.
Finishing
Weave in 3 of 4 ends. Use the last long tail to sew your flower onto your favorite projects.
