Inspired By My Cottage Garden
If you are like me and like to keep it simple, this is the perfect crochet flower for you. It will look amazing on any of your crochet creations from blankets to bonnets, crochet bags to hats! It is the flower pattern that I use in my beautiful “Flower Fairy Collection”. I am so inspired by the gardens here in the Cotswolds and like to plant my own garden in a “cottage” style. Basically as long as there are more flower’s than weeds I am happy!
The Yarn
In this tutorial I use Rico Creative Cotton Aran Yarn. The colours that Rico Design makes are absolutely stunning. The bright colours are beautiful and the flowers work up so quickly because the yarn is quite thick. The stitch definition is perfection. You can use any type of yarn you would like thought as it doesn’t matter what the gauge is for these flowers.
The Pattern
To make these flowers I used a 4mm/G-6 crochet hook. These flowers are about 4.5cm/1.75in in width. For smaller flowers you may want to use a lighter weight yarn and a smaller hook. I worked 2 of the tails into my stitches as I went to save some time.
Magic Ring (Colour A)- see video tutorial if you don’t know
