Make the perfect crochet flower using puff stitches that look lembroidered. Use the crochet flower as an applique on all of your favorite crochet projects. This design features in my Daisy Collection.
Materials
*Number 4 (Aran Yarn), I used Cascade 220 in the colours Butter & Natural.
*4mm(G-6) crochet hook. I wanted my flowers quite compact so I used a smaller hook, you may want to use a larger hook if it feels quite difficult to pull through the stitches.
Special Stitch
Puff Stitch
*yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over and pull up a loop, repeat from * 3 more times, there will be 9 loops on your hook, yarn over and pull through all nine loops.
The Pattern
US TERMS
Magic Circle
Row 1, Colour A
ch1, 6 hdc into the magic circle, sl st to the first hdc, turn
Row 2, Colour B (Petals)
ch2, puff into the first st (this will be the sl st), ch2, sl st into the next st
*ch2, puff in the next hdc, ch2, sl st into the next st, repeat from * in each st [7 petals]
Leave a long tail to sew your flower onto you projects.
Finishing
Weave in 3 of 4 ends. Use the last long tail to sew your flower onto your favorite projects.
